HEALTHY HORSE COOKIES FOR A CAUSE

Cateechee is a 2006 Egyptian Arabian mare whose breeder asked us to take her in following a severe founder, which rendered her unmarketable as a broodmare or riding horse.   She is unable to be ridden, and receives special  hoof trimming every 5 weeks from natural hoof care guru, Pete Ramey.  

Buttercup is a 2000 mini horse/pony who was rescued along with her brother, Bailey, after having been stabled in a garage without proper ventilation.  As a result, she suffers with COPD, which she is  being treated for, along with Cushing's disease.  She and her brother, Bailey, have been with. us since 2012.

Mona is a 1995 APHA mare Her previous owner had given her away after no longer wanting her.  Several months later, her previous owner called to ask if we would take her in.  She had been contacted by a potential buyer who, when conducting a pre-purchase exam, was told by the vet that she would not survive the winter in her condition.  Her previous owner bought her into rescue, and she will be with us for the rest of her life.  Mona has been treated twice for EPM, and has residual issues with ata

Penny is a 2003 mini mare, taken in after her owner lost her farm in a divorce and could not keep her.  She is naughty and always entertaining.

Bandit was impounded by the Georgia Department of Agriculture with a body score of 1.  We originally fostered him for another Georgia horse rescue who wanted to euthanize him due to what they perceived as 'dangerous' behavior.  His plight caused me to open my own rescue, and I raised funds for his vetting, which included the removal of an undescended testicle, which caused him to display stallion-like behavior.  He is gentle as a lamb, and serves as nursemaid to any horse in need.   He was estim
