Gold Dust Turmeric for Horses

Dosage

Added Benefits of Coconut Oil

Added Benefits of Coconut Oil

Horses:  we recommend that you start with 1 Tbls once per day and gradually increase dosage to 1 Tbls twice per day, then 2 Tbls twice a day, or until desired results are achieved. Many horses respond to 1Tbls once a day. Seniors, or horses with more challenging inflammation issues may be fed up to 2Tbls twice a day.  Mix with feed, preferably wet.  Horses generally accept turmeric willingly.  They especially like the flavor of the coconut oil.

Dogs and Cats: 1/4 tsp to 1 tsp a day, based on weight.  Powder may be mixed with wet food or placed inside empty capsules.Questions?  Call Sue at 404-312-9623 or email at suecrane@mac.com

*curcumin is the compound contained within the turmeric root, typically dried and ground for use in cooking.

Added Benefits of Coconut Oil

  • Coconut Oil is predominantly made up of medium-chain triglycerides. (MCTs) that are easier to digest, absorb and convert to energy than vegetable oil, and does not store as fat.
  • Coconut Oil is a ‘cool’ energy source.  Since it is a more readily digestible energy food, it doesn’t make horses ‘hot’.
  • Coconut Oil contains lauric acid, used to treat viral infections and fungal infections.
  • Coconut Oil is easy to store.  It is resistant to rancidity, and safely stored at room temperature for several years.
  • Coconut Oil is a natural antimicrobial.
  • Coconut Oil provides allergy control by providing essential fatty acids.
  • Coconut Oil acts as an antioxidant, protecting Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) from oxidation, allowing EFA to function fully in your horse’s system.
  • Coconut Oil contains anti-inflammatory properties which may provide protection against damage to the colon caused by inflammatory diseases of the digestive tract.

Why Buy Gold Dust?

Added Benefits of Coconut Oil

The Benefits of Turmeric

  • Gold Dust eliminates the wet, sloppy mess of feeding golden paste.
  • Our powder assures you feed the correct proportions of all ingredients.
  • Powder can be measured more accurately because it doesn’t leave residue on your measuring spoon.
  • You don’t have to worry about carrying the paste back and forth to the barn in freezing weather.  Just a quick shake of the bag will release the clumps.
  • No more ‘digging’ your dosage out of a frozen batch of paste.
  • The powder provides more curcumin per measurement than the paste form, so you may feed less.

We recommend using rubber gloves when handling the powder to avoid staining of skin.  If you do stain your skin, it will wash off with soap and water, but you may need to use a nail brush.

The Benefits of Turmeric

Discover the benefits of turmeric for all your pets.  We start with pure, organic turmeric powder with 3-5% curcumin*.  To optimize the absorption of curcumin, the turmeric powder is boiled and blended with pure, organic, unrefined, virgin coconut oil and made into paste.  Then, we slowly dry the paste into powder, for easy measuring, no-mess feeding and longer shelf life.  To the powder, we add fresh ground black pepper for maximum bio-availability.
